ATK 35051 HMS Scorpion 'S' Class Destroyer

HMS Scorpion was one of the Destroyer of the Late War Emergency Classes designed for the Royal Navy to replace the huge losses among the fleet Destroyers in service since the beginning of WW2. They came into service from late in 1943 and served with distinction for the remainder of WW2 and continued on until the 1960s.

HMS Scorpion was sold the the Royal Netherlands Navy at the end of WW2

ATK 35052 HMS Vigilant 'V' Class Destroyer

HMS Vigilant was one of the Destroyers of the Late War Emergency Classes designed for the Royal Navy to replace the huge losses among the fleet Destroyers in service since the beginning of WW2. HMS Vigilant was distinguished for her part in the sinking of the Japanese Cruiser Haguro. She served on into the 1960s and was one of the ships taken in for conversion to a Type 15 Frigate during the 1950s

ATK 35053 HMS Portchester Castle 'Castle' Class Corvette

HMS Portchester Castle was one of the Castle Class Corvettes designed for the Royal Navy to replace the smaller Flower Class vessels that were being used as convoy escorts. They came into service from late in 1943 and served with distinction for the remainder of WW2.

ATK 35054 HMS Abdiel Fast Cruiser Mine Layer

HMS Abdiel was one of the Light Cruiser/ Fast Minelayer Class designed for the Royal Navy to provide a vessel for special operations. They came into service in 1940 and served with distinction through WW2 not only as Minelayers, but because of their incredible speed they were used to ferry essential supplies and personel through to Malta at the height of the siege. Other ships in the class were HMS Welshman, HMS Latona and HMS Manxman with a further two ships HMS Ariadne and HMS Apollo ordered later.

HMS Starling was one of the Black Swan Class Sloops designed for the Royal Navy to provide anti submarine protection for the North Atlantic convoys. They came into service from late in 1939 and served with distinction for the remainder of WW2 and beyond.

HMS Starling achived fame under the command of Captain Johnny Walker RN and was involved in the sinking of 15 U Boats during the Battle for the Atlantic

ATK 35056 HMS Laforey 'L' Class Destroyer

The L and M classes of Destroyers were designed almost identical with the new twin 4.7inch enclosed gun turrets a prominent feature, that were supposed to offer more protection to the guns crews whilst operating in the North Atlantic or with the Arctic Convoys. HMS Laforey served mainly in the Mediterranean area and was lost to a U boat in March 1944

ATK 35058 HMS Hesperus 'H' Class Destroyer

HMS Hesperus and her five sisters were originally built for the Brazilian Navy to the

same design as the British H class of Fleet Destroyers. At the outbreak of WW2 these ships were bought back from the Brazilian government and modified into convoy escort ships by removing Y gun mounting and equiping them with a heavier depth charge armament. Hesperus served throughout the war and was scrapped in 1947.

ATK 35060 HMS Montgomery 'Town' Class Destroyer

HMS Montgomery, formerly the USS Wickes, was one of many of the USN Wickes class Destroyer Escorts handed over to the RN under the lease-lend agreement to provide much needed escort vessels for the Atlantic convoys until the more specialised home built ships could be brought into service.

ATK 35061 HMS Tartar 'Tribal' Class Destroyer 1944

ATK 35062 HMS Janus 'J' Class Fleet Destroyer 1942

HMS Janus was one of the J class Fleet Destroyers that were order by the Royal Navy as an

alternative to the larger Tribal class. HMS Janus served mostly in the Mediterranean area of

operations until she was sunk by a torpedo bomber off whilst patrolling off the beaches of Anzio in January 1944.

ATK 35063 HMS Kelly 'K' Class Fleet Destroyer 1941

HMS Kelly was one of the K class Fleet Destroyers that were a follow on order by the Royal Navy made to the same specifications as the J class HMS Kelly served mostly in the Mediterranean area of operations, under Captain (D) Lord Louis Mountbatten. HMS Kelly was sunk during the Battle of Crete in May 1941 by a squadron of dive bombers.

ATK 35065 HMS Gorleston 'Banff' Class Sloop 1943

HMS Gorleston was one of a group of American Coast Guard Cutters on loan to the Royal Navy under the Lease Lend agreement. Gorleston herself was formerly the USCG Cutter Itasca, one of the ships involved in the search for Amelia Earhart. The kits currently available are original WEM castings and are limited in number. Depending on demand the

kits will be cast through the normal Atlantic Models production line in the future.
